Natalia Ludmila was born in Mexico City and grew up in Toronto, Canada. She is a multidisciplinary artist, and her practice lies at the intersection of painting, drawing, video, and sound. It can be defined as studio-based research that points to the political looking to problematise and question certain narratives that stem from contexts of social conflict. For Ludmila, her investigations are idea-driven and thematic in origin, and it is in this nature that their processes are defined. It is about exploring an idea and finding its most suitable formal channel.
She holds a BFA specialised in painting and a MA in Digital Design. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows across the world. As well as been awarded grants for international residencies spending time at a.farm, Vietnam. Banff Centre, Canada. Cittadellarte, Italy. INSTINC, Singapore.
