Film and video

Endi Tupja studied Languages and Cultural Studies at the University of Milan, and Experimental Media Studies at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, Germany. The focus of her research is centered in experimenting with strategies of memory recuperation and the potential of re-enactment with time witnesses. Her approach explores the limits of (self) representation as well as its tangential relation to video art. There is a friction between the essential and a sense of exaggeration omnipresent in her search for clarity when narrating a subject/object. Her work has been shown in festivals and exhibitions in Berlin, Prizeren, Oaxaca, Rotterdam, Tbilisi, Bath etc. For the next Mediterranea 19 Young Artist Biennale (School of Waters -by a Natural Oasis?, she worked with curator Angeliki Tzortzakaki on a project on Bathroom Ecologies and menstrual memories of Women during the Albanian dictatorship. The focus lies in the research of specific corporalities and materialities and the absence thereof. In her ongoing research, she carves space for reflection on Eastern Feminism as part of the world feminisms, highlighting the importance of dialogue between different forms of feminism.
